Hours before Nitish Kumar’s resignation, Rohini had posted on X, stating, “As long as we have breath, our fight against communal forces continues…” Nitish Kumar is anticipated to take oath at 5 pm today, aiming to form a new government with BJP’s support.
Sources indicate that Kumar was dissatisfied with the INDIA bloc due to failed seat-sharing talks. After resigning, Nitish mentioned, “Will leave the earlier alliance and form a new alliance.”
Following Rohini’s tweet, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi commented on X, stating, “What Rohini Acharya tweeted was probably the sentiment of the entire nation, including BJP supporters. Just saying.”
“Sources citing that as a cause for friction are clutching at straws to explain the umpteenth switch,” she added.
In recent days, Kumar had been leaning towards a political shift to the BJP. JD(U)’s political adviser and spokesperson KC Tyagi announced in Delhi that the grand alliance government in Bihar is on the verge of collapse, accusing a section of the Congress leadership of repeatedly “insulting” Kumar.
While some RJD leaders favor staking a claim to form the new government, hoping to garner support from eight MLAs to surpass the majority mark, others, including Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, seem unimpressed with the idea since JD(U) and BJP together have over 122 members in the 243-strong assembly.
