In a transformative move to uplift the educational landscape in Andhra Pradesh, the ‘Vidya Shakti’ initiative has been launched to support students who may need an extra push to excel academically. Led by the Director of School Education, V. Vijay Rama Raju, this initiative aims to harness the power of dedicated teachers in shaping a brighter future for students across government schools in the state.
Addressing a gathering in Vijayawada, Mr. Rama Raju emphasized the crucial role teachers play in nurturing young minds and ensuring quality education for all. The ‘Vidya Shakti’ program, a five-day training module for educators from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, Andhra Pradesh Residential Schools, and Andhra Pradesh Model Schools, is set to be rolled out gradually to benefit students facing academic challenges.
This innovative online remedial teaching initiative will leverage technology and creative teaching methods to provide additional support in subjects like mathematics, science, and English to students outside regular school hours. Currently operational in over 4,424 Zilla Parishad, Government, and Municipal schools, along with 576 KGBVs, A.P. Residential Schools, and A.P. Model Schools statewide, ‘Vidya Shakti’ aims to enhance learning outcomes, decrease dropout rates, and boost the Gross Enrolment Ratio in educational institutions.
Starting this academic year, students will follow subject-specific timetables designed to optimize learning potential. Identifying high-potential students and offering tailored assistance to help them excel in Class 10 Board examinations is also a key focus of the initiative.
The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Secretary of A.P. Residential Educational Institutions Society, V.N. Mastanayya, and other key officials, underscoring the collective commitment towards revolutionizing the education sector in Andhra Pradesh.
With ‘Vidya Shakti,’ the government is not only investing in academic success but also nurturing a generation of confident, well-equipped individuals ready to seize diverse career opportunities. This initiative reflects a holistic approach towards education, emphasizing the importance of personalized attention and continuous support for every student.
